This Morning’s Ride: 1:00:31 Distance: 13.74 miles Average: 92 RPM

Message to the dude behind me at the corner of Brighton-Henrietta Townline Road and West Henrietta Road: Yeah, I heard you beeping, Sparky. I heard the cursing, too. That’s why I turned around and gave you that friendly wave.* Sorry I delayed your turning right for 35 seconds. I sincerely hope you find it in your heart to forgive my decision to not pull my bike into two solid lanes of traffic so that you could get to Dunkin’ Donuts half a minute sooner.

Outside of that incident, it wasn’t a bad ride this morning. I was riding a little bit slower than I would have liked, but I’m attributing that to the fact that the only part of my ride that had any level grade to it was the five miles I rode due west, and I rode that all into a headwind. So what I lost in time I made up with muscle.

I’ve decided that for the time being, I’m going to alternate the longer (13-15 mile rides) with shorter (8-10 mile rides) on a daily basis, and see if that makes me less tired.

Of course, another thing that might make me less tired is getting to bed at a decent time, but let’s not get too ridiculous here.pink_sprinkled_donut

*And it was a friendly wave, too–not the one-fingered variety. First of all, it’s really not at all that important to me that I was making him angry. More than likely, he was angry at something or someone else and just taking it out on me. Secondly, if he wanted to, the dude could have made a speed bump out of me at any time. Don’t poke the badgers.
